Planning a first birthday party should be pretty simple, right? I mean the kids have no request on themes yet and they won’t remember it. Well when you are trying to find a “theme” and you have two personal request, not super kiddy and not filled with blue, it should be pretty easy… Let me just let you know, Pinterest is full of fancy girl birthday parties and lots of kiddy themes with blue everywhere for boys. My “easy” task became a challenge. Is anything ever truly easy?
I ended up being three weeks out from his party and really needed to make a decision. It forced me to hurry up and make up my mind. So, I kept it simple and went with the same colors as his room, green, gray, and white, for the balloon garland and plates. I still needed something else to contrast all the balloons, which is where the succulents come in.
I don’t think I have ever planned something so last minute. I was able to find all the little details the Friday before the party by walking through Target, Hobby Lobby, and TJ Maxx. While I am not proud with how last minute his party ended up being. I could not have asked for a better outcome.
You can see all the final touches and details below.
Balloon Garland and Table runner – BAB Big Ass Balloons New to the Atlanta Area. https://www.bigassballoons.com
Wooden Creates – Ikea- These are seriously my favorite. They are the same price as the wooden creates you find a craft and home stores but much sturdier.
Succulents – Hobby Lobby
White Vases – Target
